Thank you so much for participating this month. You had me hooked from the very beginning and halfway through I completely forgot I was reading a story based on our prompt. This had such a wonderful life of its own!

This was a great read - it reminded me a bit of Nightbitch by Rachel Yoder.

I love reading this first person POV from the hunter. The push and pull of needs and wants, of obligations and passions, are really well-balanced. I love where the story went in the end, with a plumber arriving at the wrong address and ending up as dinner instead of the cats.

Intriguing! I particularly liked "He likes me with lipstick and perfume, not bared teeth and the sweat of the chase" and "Doe eyes. Poor Buck."

The werewolf angle is brilliant. You never come right out and say they're werewolves--I sincerely hope they are, I guess it's scarier if they aren't.

Enjoyed this read!
